Bradstreet (Anne) is born in England.

Born in England in 1612, Anne Bradstreet is the daughter of Thomas Dudley and wife of Simon Bradstreet, whom she married in 1637. She sails on the Arbella and arrives in Salem and Charlestown, before settling in Cambridge (then Newtowne) in 1630.* Eventually the mother of eight children, Bradstreet becomes the first published American poet in 1650.* She helps to settle Ipswich and Andover and dies in Andover on September 16, 1672. Her work is not published in the Colonies until 1678.
